2 arrested after teen shot in Nashboro Village

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Two people were arrested for a shooting that injured a 16-year-old in Nashboro Village Thursday night.

Police said the victim was shot behind Village Green Apartments after he allegedly met Yohanes Esho, 18, and Ifeatu Azubike, 19, in an attempt to sell one of the men two guns.

According to a release, the victim handed the two pistols over to Esho, who allegedly said he was robbing the teen of guns.

When the teen tried to run, police said they believe Esho grabbed his own weapon and opened fire.

The victim was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with an abdomen injury.

Esho was taken into custody just before Noon on Friday at a Madison convenience market.

Azubike was arrested late Friday night on Rambling Road.

Esho and Azubike were booked into the Metro jail and charged with especially aggravated robbery. Their bonds were set at $250,000 each.
