NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Thursday is Mayor Karl Dean’s last full day in office after serving as Music City’s mayor for the last eight years.
Deal plans to help dedicate the new gym at Hume Fogg Magnet High School at 11 a.m.
At Noon, he is scheduled to speak to Nashville’s downtown partnership and receive an award.
Dean will meet with Metro Nashville Police Department’s commanders for the final time as mayor at 2:30 p.m.
Mayor-elect Megan Barry will be sworn-in Friday; with the theme “We are Nashville”.
The ceremony will include the words in 10 different languages, celebrating the variety of Nashville.
“This is about celebrating all of Nashville,” Barry said in the unveiling of the theme. “What makes Nashville great is the diversity of our economy, our culture, our ideas, our music and our spirit.”
