NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — On Sept. 23, 50 injured veterans will take part in a 3-day bike ride hosted by the Wounded Warrior Project.

The Soldier Ride event allows the veterans to take part in a rehabilitative weekend focused on physical health and wellness, camaraderie, and healing.

Each disabled veteran is fit with adaptive equipment to meet their specific needs for the 40-mile journey.

The three-day cycling event is often an introductory program for WWP veterans. For some service members, it could mark their first time leaving their home in months, or even years, as they struggle to adjust to their new normal and learn to cope with their wounds.
