SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (WKRN) – A car crashed into a home late Sunday night in Springfield as the family inside was watching television.
According to Smokey Barn News, it happened just before 10 p.m. on South Main Street.
The family said they were watching ‘Fear The Walking Dead’ when they heard what sounded like an explosion, and found a car in their kitchen.
A neighbor who was sitting on his porch and saw what happened said, “He came flying around the corner, (probably 30 or 40 miles an hour at least) and hit the embankment.”
He added that after hitting the ditch, the driver over-corrected, skidded across the road and then into the home.
The refrigerator and stove were moved during the impact and some dishes in the home were broken, but no one inside was injured, according to Smokey Barn News.
The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries. He was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence, but police also told the paper that he was knocked out during the crash and might have just been stunned.
