MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – A mulching machine was damaged in a fire Sunday afternoon in Murfreesboro.

According to the Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue Department, it happened at the City of Murfreesboro’s Fleet Services Department on Florence Road just after 3:15 p.m.

When crews arrived on scene the machine was engulfed in flames.

“A large stack of mulch beside the machine was also on fire, another pile nearby had embers on it,” said Fire Captain Jim White

He added that the fire was under control in about 15 minutes, but it took them more than 30 minutes to put it out completely.

There was reportedly some kind of problem with the motor under the machine.

None of the city employees or company workers at the site were injured.
