NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge held a reveal party Thursday night for its “A year of Tootsie’s” 2016 calendar.
The calendar features the female bartenders of the honky tonk with all proceeds from sales going to pediatric cancer research at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital.
Tootsie’s marketing director Darryl Edwards said the calendar is a great way for the honky tonk to give back to the community.
“Tootsie’s is very grateful for the consumers and patrons that come in and this is a way for us to give back to a very good cause, a very worthwhile cause,” said Edwards.
The calendar highlights birthdays of important country music stars, including Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Sr., Willie Nelson and Johnny Cash.
“The birthdays are noted in this calendar because they all contributed to the honky tonks and as a honky tonk, we’re contributing back to the community,” said Edwards.
Tootsie’s hopes to raise $100,000 for pediatric cancer research.
Each calendar costs $20 and can be purchased at tootsiesgirls.com.
