FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) – Country music star Naomi Judd has partnered with the Williamson County Sherrif’s Office to raise money for the department’s explosive detection dog.
Judd appeared at the historic Williamson County courthouse Thursday to ask for donations for 2-year-old German Shepherd Onyx.
The cost of training Onyx would range between $70,000 to $100,000 so Judd urged county residents to contribute.
“We desperately need to get ourselves ready for prevention but God forbid, if something ever happened,” said Judd.
The rigorous training process lasts 26 weeks.
Donations should be sent to the Williamson County Law Enforcement Foundation at 306 Public Square, Franklin, TN 37064.
