NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Two of the Nashville Predators presented a check for nearly $400,000 to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital Wednesday.
Goaltender Pekka Rinne and defenseman Shea Weber personally delivered the check, which will help fund pediatric cancer research.
“It’s hard coming in here sometimes. Kids are going through a lot of different things and situations. Just to brighten their day even for a few minutes and try to put a smile on their faces…that’s what we’re hoping for,” said Shea Weber.
The check was from the 365 Pediatric Cancer Fund presented by Dollar General, which was started by Rinne and Weber.
This was the largest single donation the fund has ever given to the hospital.
