The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation began looking into the matter on Aug. 28 at the request of Sheriff Sonny Weatherford.

Linzy resigned his position after the allegations surfaced.

He faces two counts of official misconduct, one count of theft, and five counts of simple possession of a controlled substance.
