NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A local group is fighting back against crime by hosting an event Tuesday with a powerful message.
“Partners in the Struggle,” held a meeting at Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in north Nashville.
They discussed the recent deaths of nine Nashville young people who died from gun violence.
The event featured an open casket with a sign saying “Stop the Violence.”
Balloons with the names of victims were released into the air.
“I am tired of burying our young people and it’s getting worser and worser and worser. and that’s one part of my job I just wish I could put down, not be able to do anymore, burying our young kids,” said Steve Ganaway with Partners in the Struggle.
Ganaway said young people are our future and he is tired of burying the future due to gun violence.
