CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was charged with aggravated assault after he reportedly assaulted a woman and threatened the people who witnessed the incident Sunday in Montgomery County.

Clarksville Now reported witnesses saw John Weber, 33, assault a woman outside their home on Walnut Grove Road.

Weber reportedly fled the scene and the witnesses followed him to his home on Cunningham Lane where they tried to detain him. He then reportedly pulled out a gun and pointed it at the witnesses.

The witnesses called 911 while Weber went inside the home.

When police arrived at the scene they set up a perimeter for the possibility of a barricaded suspect. Officers were able to convince Weber to leave the house and they took him into custody.

A handgun was found in the bathroom of the home with one bullet in the chamber and four in the magazine.

Weber was booked into the Montgomery County jail and charged with aggravated assault. His bond was set at $45,000.
