Clarksville man in jail after police chase in Kentucky

CHRISTIAN COUNTY, Ky. (WKRN) – A vehicle chase landed a Clarksville man in jail with multiple charges Saturday night.

According to Kentucky police, a traffic checkpoint was set up on US 41A near mile marker 11.

Officers saw 31-year-old Carlos Washington approach the checkpoint in his car, but as they approached the vehicle, Washington swerved into the other lane.

Washington then took off towards Hopkinsville on Pennyrile Parkway, initiating a pursuit.

Several troopers and sheriff’s deputies got involved and eventually caught up to him off mile marker nine.

Washington was taken into custody and is now in the Christian County jail with a laundry list of charges including four counts of wanton endangerment, fleeing or evading police, operating on suspended or revoked license and DUI.
