NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The most people since 2008 are traveling for the Labor Day weekend.
According to AAA, 35.5 million people will be traveling 50 miles or more during the weekend.
So how are they getting to where they’re going? 86% will be going by car, 7.4% by plane and 6.8% will be spending the weekend at sea.
Gas prices are the lowest they have been for this holiday in a decade with the average gas price being $2.22 a gallon in Tennessee. The average price hasn’t been that low since 2004 when it was only $1.27 a gallon.
Since road tripping remains the most popular way to get around, Tennessee Highway Patrol will be working overtime to keep drivers safe.
