FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) – A nationwide effort, sparked by recent deaths of police officers, has reached Middle Tennessee.
Franklin residents came together Friday afternoon to show their support of the Franklin Police Department.
People showed up with signs and balloons for the “Back the Blue” campaign – a day designated to show appreciation to local law enforcement.
“I’ve been working this profession for quite a number of years. The support we get just really gets you through the day,” said Franklin police officer Carlos Cordero.
The tribute directly follows the death of Texas deputy Darren Goforth, who was shot and killed last week while pumping gas. His funeral was Friday.
