NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — A groundbreaking was held Friday as the city begins on construction to fill in the gap on Division Street.
The project will extend Division half a mile from 8th Avenue South all the way down to 2nd Avenue South.
A new pedestrian plaza is also a part of the plans, with LED lighting and a complete street that encompasses a new cycle track and wide sidewalks.
“The Division Street extension will provide a vital link between the Gulch and SoBro, connecting activity taking place from Rolling Mill Hill to Vanderbilt – and all points in between,” Mayor Karl Dean said.
It is the sixth Complete Street project for Mayor Dean and is expected to be completed in winter 2016.
