NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – TSA officers find an average of 850 pounds of prohibited items at Nashville International Airport checkpoints each month.
On Thursday, the TSA held a briefing to display prohibited items that often make their way into carry-on luggage.
Items displayed included snow globes, alcohol, and power tools.
“As you can imagine, if we have to stop every bag for prohibited items, that’s going to slow the process down for everyone. So do a quick check of your bags before you leave for the airport, you’ll save yourself and everybody else a lot of time,” said TSA spokesperson Mark Howell.
The public reminder comes less than a month after two loaded handguns were found at Nashville airport checkpoints in one day.
