FRANKLIN, Tenn. (WKRN) – The city of Franklin Parks Department has revealed a new mural and equipment at Pinkerton Park.

A 12-foot tall Kompan Spacenet will allow for “compact bouncy climbing” for several children at once, replacing older playground equipment in the park.

The new additions began at the first annual Franklin Kids Arts Festival Tennessee when artwork from 13 students was selected for the mural under the theme “Franklin, past, present and future.”

The mural combined the student’s artwork and was drawn on an eight foot square of plywood before being cut into smaller squares.

Hundreds of children then participated in painting the mural, which will be placed under the foot bridge in the park.

“This is a great beginning to get more local art in our Parks,” said Parks Director Lisa Clayton.
