50 percent of stolen cars over week in Nashville had keys inside

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Metro police said Thursday there 30 cars stolen across Nashville from Sunday, August 23 to Saturday, August 29.

Fifty percent of them were what police call easy targets because the keys were left inside.

The department is continuing their Park Smart campaign to strongly urge citizens to lock their car doors and “REMOVE THE KEYS.”

Police are also urging people to shop smart by not leaving purses, valuables or shopping bags in plain view inside their cars, even if for a short time.
