Memorial held for Julian Bond in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Civil rights icon Julian Bond was honored in Nashville Sunday night.

People gathered at Gordon Memorial United Methodist Church in the 2000 block Herman Street at 6 p.m. to pay their respects to the Nashville native.

Bond died earlier this month at age 75.

He is known nationwide for his NAACP service, humanitarian efforts and his leadership for higher education.
