BELLEVUE, Tenn. (WKRN) –The Bellevue community gathered Saturday to celebrate the demolition of Bellevue Center.
The space will be transformed into a $200 million development that will include retail, restaurant and entertainment space.
Members of the community were invited to attend a picnic that included food, family entertainment and music to mark the historic day.
The official demolition ceremony began at 7 p.m.
Demolition is estimated to take four to six months to complete.
Once complete, work on One Bellevue Place, a mixed-use development, will begin.
One Bellevue Place will include 330 residential units, a 120-room hotel and professional and medical space, among other things. It’s slated to open its doors by Thanksgiving 2017.
