Passenger injured after shots fired into car in north Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A passenger was injured after someone fired shots at a car in north Nashville early Wednesday morning.

It happened near Batavia Street and 33rd Avenue North around 3 a.m.

The victims told police they were going to the store when the car they were traveling in was struck by gunfire.

The passenger side window was shattered and glass from it became lodged in the passenger’s arm.

The driver drove to 27th Avenue North and Meharry Boulevard, dropped off the passenger and picked up his girlfriend before calling police to report the shooting.

Police are investigating to determine if the shots came from someone walking or from another vehicle.
