After falling into fire pit 6 years ago, Tenn. boy needs new liver

SPRING HILL, Tenn. (WKRN) – In 2009, little Dylan Trevino of Spring Hill fell into a fire pit in his back yard.

The 5-year-old was critically injured, suffering burns on 65 percent of his body and losing his small intestine.

Dylan has battled infections and had problems eating. Doctors now say he needs a liver transplant.

On Wednesday, the now-11-year-old spent the day at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital undergoing tests.

News 2 learned he faces six to 12 months in the hospital.
