Fire destroys 2 homes at Millersville campground

MILLERSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A fire at a Sumner County motel and campground destroyed two homes early Friday morning.

It happened at the Travel Land Campground Motel, located at 1111 Louisville Hwy., around 3:30 a.m.

Officials with the Millersville Fire Department determined the fire was in electrical in nature.

The fire began in a site-built home that was constructed in 1971. The couple inside heard a popping noise and fled the home with their dog.

The couple alerted their neighbor that the fire spread to a mobile home next door. That resident was able to escape with no injuries.

The Millersville Fire Department cleared the scene around 7:30 a.m.

No other injuries were reported.

No additional information was immediately released.
