Police search for suspects in Antioch attempted robbery

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Police are searching for two suspects who reportedly tried to rob a minor early Monday morning in Antioch.

It happened on Claircrest Drive at the Clairmont Townhouses just after 1 a.m.

Police said the juvenile had just come back to The United States after spending the summer with his grandparents overseas.

He reportedly got a text message from a girl he went to school with, asking him to go outside and hang out. When the minor walked out of the townhouse he was assaulted by two males.

The victim struggled and managed to get back inside the home. Police said they believe it was an attempted robbery and the suspects fired shots into the air as they ran away.

K9 officers were called to the scene to help track the suspects, but they were not found. However, police told News 2 they do have good leads.

Anyone with information about the incident should call metro police at 615-862-8600 or Crime Stoppers at 615-74-CRIME.
