NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 23-year-old man was killed in a crash Monday morning that shut down Nolensville Pike in south Nashville for several hours.
It happened just before 5 a.m. on Nolensville Pike at April Lane.
Police said Jadarrius Cook’s 2009 Nissan Maxima car left the road and hit a concrete drain culvert as he was driving north on the roadway.
Authorities said Cook was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Cook was taken to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with life-threatening injuries where he later died.
The northbound lanes of Nolensville Pike were shut down for several hours while investigators collected evidence.
Toxicology tests will be conducted to determine if alcohol or drug involvement was a factor in the crash.
