Stolen Clarksville wrecker recovered in Kentucky

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A wrecker that was stolen from a Clarksville towing business last month was recovered in Hazzard, Kentucky Aug. 7.

Clarksville Now reported the business owner said the suspect painted the wrecker black with a roller and attempted to junk it for parts. An employee noticed the paint job and the ignition switch, which had been tampered with, and alerted police.

When Kentucky State Police seized the vehicle, several parts were reportedly missing and all the tools in the vehicle were gone.

The wrecker will be returned to the business.

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED: 

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A blue Peterbilt wrecker was stolen from a Montgomery County towing company Friday night.

Clarksville Now reported the owner of Clarksville Towing, located at 1362 College St., told police he noticed the wrecker was missing when he arrived to work Saturday morning.

It had been parked at the business Friday night by an employee.

The estimated value of the truck is $110,000, according to a police report.
