NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Police are searching for a man who sexually assaulted a south Nashville woman Sunday night.
The 24-year-old female victim told police that the suspect came in to her bedroom at Brentridge Apartments at 10:55 p.m. Sunday, right after her boyfriend left for the laundry room just a few buildings away.
Police say that indicates the suspect may have been watching the apartment.
“It’s scary to think that they were watching and somehow knew the schedule and in a short period of time could get in and actually do something,” said Jamie Heatherly, who lives in the same apartment complex.
Heatherly said she is now going to be taking precautions. “I‘m going to make sure my husband has his phone on him at all times and I have my phone on me at all times,” she said.
The victim began screaming as soon as the suspect, a Hispanic male around 5 feet 7 inches tall, began penetrating her with his fingers. He then placed his hand over the victims mouth and told her to be quiet before running away.
He was wearing a gray t-shirt, shorts and white cotton gloves. A TBI sketch was released by the police Thursday depicting the alleged suspect.
