NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The civil case against Nashville Predators forward Mike Ribeiro is over.
The case was settled out of court.
Terms of the settlement with a former nanny who made sexual assault claims against Ribeiro are unknown.
The Predators signed Ribeiro before the 2014-15 season and knew of the accusations against him, but after doing their own due diligence felt comfortable enough to bring the 35-year-old to Nashville on a one-year deal.
It paid off for both parties with Ribeiro putting up 15 goals and 47 assists.
“The organization understands Mike Ribeiro has resolved his civil case. We are pleased that Mike and his family can focus on their future and we will have no further comment,” The Predators said in a statement.
Ribeiro agreed to a two-year, $7-million contract to remain with the Predators two weeks ago.
