Nashville firefighters rescue woman trapped in elevator after power outage

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Tuesday afternoon’s quick moving storms caused one woman to become stuck in an elevator at a Hillsboro Village office after the power went out.

It happened on the second floor of an office located at 21st Avenue and West Linden Street.

People inside the building told News 2 they gave the woman water and helped keep her calm until firefighters arrived.

Responding fire crews pried open the elevator door and safely pulled her out. It is unclear how long the woman was trapped inside the elevator.

The woman told News 2 she was relieved but did not want to do an on-camera interview.

People inside the office gave the firefighters a standing ovation for their efforts.
