COLLIN COUNTY, Texas (WKRN) – Officials in Texas said a body recovered from a Texas lake is believed to be JaJuan Dawson, a former NFL player for the Houston Texans.
The Collin County Sheriff’s Office in McKinney, Texas, said Tuesday the body was recovered late Monday night at 11:35 p.m. in Lake Lavon.
Dawson went missing on July 12 after falling off an inflatable tube being pulled by a boat.
The Associated Press reported the 37-year-old wasn’t wearing a lifejacket at the time.
The 6-foot-1, 197-pound wide receiver played in the NFL for three years. He was in Cleveland for the 2000 and 2001 seasons before spending his last year in 2002 with the Texans.
He had 52 catches for 664 yards and two touchdowns in his pro career.
