NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The energy was high as fans made their way into the Luke Bryan concert Saturday.
Though an attempted sexual assault on Vanderbilt’s campus earlier in the day was still on the minds of those attending the concert.
“We just made sure our friends all knew about it so that they were cautious and just stayed with a buddy. Yeah, we all go together,” said Laura Zeitlin, who was with 16 friends to see the Country star.
The victim, a female student worker, was walking along 24th Avenue South on campus when she says she was attacked from behind.
The woman was able to clearly identify the suspect from surveillance.
Deena Byrd, who is visiting campus from Dallas, TX, said she was a little shocked, but felt very safe.
“It’s the safest place to be right now because everybody is on heightened alert. I’m a little shocked it happened on campus, but I don’t feel unsafe right now,” said Byrd.
Police are still searching for the suspect. Those with information should call 615-421-1911.
