NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – One of the Predators newest players was in Music City Wednesday and was introduced to the media.
After spending 15 years with the St. Louis Blues, Barret Jackman is excited to be in Nashville with what he believes is one of the better defenses in the NHL and was lucky to get a spot.
“I think looking before the signing and seeing the depth, I was really unsure if Nashville would have a spot for me, so looking at how strong the defense already was and being able to be a part of it, I definitely feel it’s very strong in all six,” Jackson said.
Jackman will likely be paired with Seth Jones on defense and is a guy the Predators front office believes can bring a veteran presence to help develop the younger players.
“In St. Louis, I’ve had a lot of the young, the young d-men, and been able to pair with them and help them feel free to play their style of game,” he told media. “You know I’m more of the defensive minded guy that, you know, is not afraid to stay at home and let my partner go free wheeling.”
