2 charged in robbery of east Nashville Subway

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Two men were charged in the June robbery of a Subway restaurant in east Nashville.

Russel Hudson, 26, and William Spivey, 22, each face two counts of aggravated robbery in the June 22 incident on Gallatin Avenue.

Metro police said Hudson is accused of entering the business just before closing and robbing two employees at gunpoint.

Spivey allegedly drove the getaway car.

Authorities said their investigation led to their identities. One Metro detective had arrested Hudson just four days after the robbery for selling counterfeit heroin.

Hudson is being held in lieu of $160,000 bond while Spivey is being held on $100,000.
