NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A Metro police officer stumbled upon a shooting victim in Madison late Monday night after reportedly noticed a group of people standing in the street.
Police told News 2 the officer was patrolling the area of East Palestine Avenue around 10 p.m. when he spotted the group and thought shots were being fired.
The group scattered as the officer got out of his car, and a short time later a man with a gunshot wound to his shoulder was found.
He was taken to the hospital for treatment and is expected to be ok, police said.
No arrests were made and officers told News 2 that the victim provided little information about the incident, saying the shots came from a black SUV.
