CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Clarksville city leaders are hosting a fundraiser to help repair a concession stand at a baseball field after it was damaged by burglars and vandals in June.
According to ClarksvilleNow.com, Representative Joe Pitts and Clarksville City Councilwoman Deanna McLaughlin hope to raise $10,000 to fix up the stand at Northwest Little League’s Stokes Field.
The stand and surrounding buildings were burglarized and vandalized at least four times in June and the suspects used a pickax to try and break through the concrete-side of the building, the paper reported.
Pitts and McLaughlin reportedly want to restore the concession stand to its previous condition, replace stolen merchandise and install security features to help prevent future thefts and vandalism.
Donations will be accepted at all Planters Bank locations in Clarksville under the name Stokes Field Repair Fund and a GoFundMe account has also been set up.
Police are still investigating the June incidents, but have not named any suspects, according to Clarksvillenow.com.
Anyone with information about the crimes should call Crime Stoppers at 931-645-TIPS.
