NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The upcoming Fourth of July “Let Freedom Sing” concert and fireworks show is expected to draw as many as 300,000 people.
Depending on the weather, this year’s crowd could surpass the massive crowd of about 284,00 that attended last year.
Metro police will have an imposing presence on Saturday.
“This police department will have literally hundreds of officers throughout the immediate downtown vicinity,” said Don Aaron, spokesman for the Metro Nashville Police Department.
While there will be a heavy police presence, police are asking people to be mindful of their surroundings.
“We need citizens to be our eyes and ears when it comes to public safety,” said Aaron. “So if a citizen sees something suspicious, or something seems out of the ordinary, there will be an officer very close by. Let him know. It may be something. It may not be anything. But still let us know.”
