NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A man was arrested Tuesday night for the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old inside a north Nashville nightclub on May 31.
According to Metro police, Christian Evans, 19, was taken into custody by SWAT officers late Tuesday night and charged with criminal homicide.
Brandon Williams, 17, was found unresponsive on the dance floor at 1:30 a.m. of Club Kilimanjaro when officers responded to the 1402 Arctic Ave. location.
The teen was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center where he died.
An investigation by North Precinct detectives led to the development of Evans as a suspect and witnesses identified him from photo lineups.
Evans, of Constitution Avenue, was convicted of felony aggravated assault on May 22, just days before the fatal shooting. He received a three-year probated sentence.
Williams’ father Tyrail Hobson said the teen had just graduated from Hillsboro High School and wanted to join the Navy.
Club Kilimanjaro has since been restricted on what alcohol it can sell.
Evans was booked into the Metro jail and is being held without bond pending a hearing.
