TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – When an older boy beat up Caleb Howard, 8, and stole his brand new bicycle in North Tampa last week, police officers didn’t just investigate the crime, they helped get the boy a new bike.

Tampa Police Department District Two Major Lee Bercaw and Lieutenant Randy Peters teamed up with Pawn Max on Fowler Avenue and found a suitable bike for him. The pawn donated the used bike and Joe Haskins Bicycle Shop and OPG Detail Shop spiffied it up just for Caleb.

The boy smiled ear to ear when the officers presented him with another bike.

Caleb was not seriously hurt during the robbery, and officers are working to identify the suspect in this crime and find the boy’s bike.
