NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Metro police brought its “Coffee with a Cop” program to a west Nashville park for a special event aimed at children Wednesday morning.
The event was held at Richland Park on Charlotte Pike from 8 to 11 a.m.
Kids were able to take part in the successful program that was previously only targeted at adults.
Metro Nashville Police Department officers from the west precinct were on hand to meet with families and talk to them about ways to stay safe.
“A lot of times they see us in a bad situation where we’ve been called to a scene, but this is just an opportunity to come out and see a lot of fun things,” said Sergeant Steve Winn.
The program will expand in July as Metro police hosts “Climb with a Cop,” where officers will team up to rock climb with kids.
The event will be held July 17 at Climb Nashville from 4 to 6 p.m.
