Kentucky State Police trooper killed in crash

Grand Rivers, Ky. (WKRN) – A trooper with the Kentucky State Police was killed in a car accident Tuesday night in western Kentucky.

It happened on U.S. Route 62 near Grand Rivers, Kentucky around 5:45 p.m.

Trooper Eric Chrisman, 23, was responding to a reckless driving complaint when he lost control on a curve.

According to Kentucky State Police, his cruiser crossed into oncoming traffic and into the path of a tractor-trailer.

Trooper Chrisman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the semi truck was transported to Marshall County Hospital where he was treated and released.

Both drivers were wearing their seat belts.

Trooper Chrisman was originally from Lawrenceburg, Kentucky and graduated from Kentucky State Police Academy in January 2015.
