AMBER alert issued for east Tenn. girl last seen with sex offender

SURGOINSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – An AMBER Alert has been activated for a missing Hawkins County girl.

The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation reported 14-year-old Hayleigh Wilson left her Surgoinsville home on Monday night.

She was last seen at a Walmart in Marion, North Carolina on Tuesday wearing a flowery top and in the company of 41-year-old Benjamin ‘Ben’ Shook, a registered sex offender out of Georgia.

Shook has several tattoos and was wearing a blue shirt, with “Ford” written on it, dark shorts and a camouflage baseball hat.

Investigators believe they may have been driving in a maroon colored 2004 Ford Explorer Sport Trac with Tennessee tag D6020D.
