SPRINGFIELD, Tenn. (WKRN) – According to police, two men were arrested for disorderly conduct Saturday in Springfield during the annual Taste of Country event.
The street preachers were holding up a sign showing a photo of an aborted fetus and being disruptive during the event, becoming agitated after being told to tone it down, according to Springfield Police Chief David Thompson.
The men reportedly became belligerent and started yelling at bystanders, calling them sinners and telling them they are going to hell.
After their conduct allegedly continued, John Davis, 49, and John McGlone, 54, were charged with disorderly conduct.
They were booked and released from Robertson County Jail the same day on $1,500 bond.
Davis and McGlone were part of a group of a dozen who were passing out religious literature and preaching to people.
