CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A 53-year-old woman charged with hitting and killing a bicyclist in Clarksville last fall has been sentenced to five years in prison.
Phyllis Taylor pleaded guilty to vehicular homicide in March for the Sept. 24 accident that claimed the life of Vince Freeman.
Freeman was riding his bike on Tiny Town Road when the accident occurred around midnight.
Police said Taylor initially denied driving the vehicle that struck and killed Freeman.
It was later determined Taylor was in fact the driver involved in the fatal accident.
Taylor will serve five years of jail time.
