NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Nashville Rescue Mission is asking the community for donations of bottled water for the homeless.

“The Mission’s Hot Patrol van goes out when the temperature is 90 degrees and above,” said Eric Grindeland, senior director of guest services ministries. “We patrol the streets of Nashville handing out cold bottles of water to the homeless, and encouraging them to come back to the Mission for shelter, refreshment, and spiritual guidance.”

Serving over 900 people each day, hotter temperatures and increasing demand are creating an enormous need for bottled water.

The mission needs help from the Nashville community to build up its supply of bottled water in order to help those in need Friday, as well as those who will be in need throughout the summer.

Donations of bottled water can be received at the Mission’s Donation Center, located at 616 7th Ave. South, Nashville. It’s open Monday through Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. or you can make an online donation at
