CENTERVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Authorities arrested an inmate Sunday night who escaped from jail in Hickman County.
Hickman County authorities told News 2, a citizen tip led them to 25-year-old Cody Bates. They reportedly found him in a home in the Woodland Heights neighborhood, less than 10 miles from the jail.
Further information about his Bates’ arrest wasn’t immediately available.
Correctional officers noticed he was missing Friday morning around 1:15 a.m. when they conducted a check of inmates. Surveillance footage indicated Bates forced open a gate and escaped.
Deputies and detectives with the Hickman County Sheriff’s Department, plus K-9 officers and helicopters with the Tennessee Highway Patrol were brought in to search for Bates.
Bates was reportedly being held for evading arrest, motor vehicle charges and violation of parole. He also had outstanding warrants in Dickson County.
