TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — A teenager hit a car and fled but ended up driving into a pool in Florida.
The 17-year-old hit a black Hyundai at N. Ola Avenue and Country Club Drive in Tampa, police said. The crash caused minor injuries.
The teenage driver then fled the scene, drove recklessly and lost control of his vehicle, police said. Police said ge traveled through a fence and screen enclosure and ended up in a backyard pool on Otis Avenue.
The driver was able to get out of the car and was not injured. He waited for police.
The incident caused more than $30,000 in damage, police said. The boy is charged with two counts of reckless driving and leaving the scene of a crash with minor injuries.
