Piles of dead fish close I-40 in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – A fishy situation caused crews to close lanes of Interstate 40 near the Adventure Science Museum in Nashville Thursday afternoon.

Eastbound lanes were closed just before 3 p.m. at the I-65 split and reopened after 5 p.m.

Officials with the Tennessee Department of Transportation said they have no idea where the fish parts came from or how they got into the road.

Crews worked to clear the road before rush hour. They used shovels to remove the fish before spraying the roadway down.
