MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WKRN) – A fire at a Murfreesboro duplex is under investigation after officials say it is clear the fire was intentionally set.
Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue crews responded to the fire at a duplex located at 1561 Center Point Dr. at around 6 p.m. Sunday.
When Ladder 8, Rescue 8, and Engine 1 arrived on scene, they were directed to the affected unit in the duplex, discovering light smoke.
According to Captain Joe Bell, there was a small amount of fire on the den floor. The fire was quickly extinguished and crews ventilated the unit.
Assistant Fire Marshal Carl Peas was called to the scene to conduct an investigation.
“It was clear that the fire was intentionally set,” said Peas. “However, we will not be releasing any further details at this time.”
No injuries were reported, and officials tell News 2 additional information will be released as it becomes available.
