Vanderbilt postponed Illinoise

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – Game two of the Champaign Super Regional between the Vanderbilt Commodores and sixth seeded Illinois Fighting Illini was postponed Sunday evening because of the threat of severe weather.

The game will now be played Monday at 3 p.m., and Phillip Pfeifer is slated to pitch.

The Commodores lead the best-of-three series 1-0 after winning 13-0 Saturday night.

With a win in one of the next two games, Vanderbilt advances to its third College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.

Last season, the Commodores won their first ever World Series championship.
