NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) – The Nashville International Airport celebrated the arrival of the first nonstop flight from Oakland, California, on Sunday.
Officials held a unique party at baggage claim to welcome the flight, offering food, goodie bags and live music for the passengers.
Daily non-stop service from Nashville to the Bay Area at Oakland International Airport was announced last December and finally began Wednesday.
“The San Francisco Bay Area has been at the very top of our list in terms of domestic priorities—a nonstop flight to Oakland opens many doors for our community and economy,” Rob Wigington, Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority president and CEO, said.
Wigington went on to say the flight addition is a victory for the city.
